Welcome to the Watervliet Rod & Gun Club website. The purpose of this organization shall be to:

•	Further and advance the cause of conservation and recreation for this generation and generations to come.
•	Promote the proper and safe use of firearms, by example and training, for recreation and protection.
•	Fully support the principles of the Second Amendment of the United States of America.

This organization was founded in 1963 by Alex Bohle and was called "Lake 14 Rod & Gun Club".

Club members held their meetings any place they could; in the park when weather permitted, or in a member's home.

In 1965, the property at 3413 Hennesey Road was purchased. In 1967 the clubhouse was started and the club's name was changed to "Watervliet Rod & Gun Club". In 1968, "Watervliet Rod & Gun Club" was officially incorporated. Watervliet Rod & Gun Club Inc. continues to provide a great service to hunters and shooters from around the country.
